Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 users are now receiving MIUI 9.5 global stable ROM in India

Xiaomi’s recently launched budget smartphone — Redmi Note 5 is now receiving MIUI 9.5 global stable build in India. The software update is rolling out to all Redmi Note 5 users in India and outside. Earlier last week, a handful of other Xiaomi phones had received the MIUI 9.5 update like the Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3, Mi Max and a few more. The new MIUI 9.5 update brings several new features, bug fixes and so on to the newly launched Redmi Note 5.

Until now, Redmi Note 5 was running on Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 9. With the coming of MIUI update the Redmi Note 5 users are now getting updated to several new features like – quick search option, adjusted position of the search bar, sound recording option for screen recorder, optimized Browser’s kernel and more. Xiaomi has revamped the start page and also optimises the performance of the Redmi Note 5. It has also resumed interrupted transfers in Mi Mover without starting over. With MIUI 9.5, Redmi Note 5 users will now able to transfer apps with or without app data using Mi Mover.

In addition to these new features, MIUI 9.5 brings optimizations to the notification panel. It adds a new format for floating notifications in the landscape mode. The software update also adds bug fixes to the Redmi Note 5. It resolved the system launcher issue which kept stopping after adding or opening widgets after the update to 7.11.10. It also solved the forced closing setting issue when apps were installed and also fixed the crop scrolling screenshots problem. MIUI 9.5 also brings a quick dial number option, and improvements to TalkBack in the notification shade, Bluetooth switch responsiveness and also fixed the System launcher stopping issue.

To install the MIUI 9.5 update Redmi Note 5 users can head to the Settings option > go to About phone section > and then head to System updates. Ensure to connect to Wi-Fi and back up your data before installing the update.

Earlier last week, Xiaomi rolled out the MIUI 9.5 update to several other phones like — the Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm/Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max and Mi Max Prime. The company has confirmed to roll out the update to as many as 30 Xiaomi phones in the forthcoming days.

— Early April: Redmi Note 5A Prime/Redmi Y1, Redmi Note 5A/Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5, Mi Max 2, Mi 5, Redmi 4X, Mi 6 and Mi Mix 2

— Mid April: Mi Note 2, Mi 5s, Mi MIX, Mi Note 3, Mi 5s Plus, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 3, Redmi 4, Mi 3, Mi 4.
